Good Startup School Shkodra 2023-2024 IGNITE

The “Good Startup School (GSS) Shkodra 2023-2024” was a 6 months project which culminated on March 19, 2024, with a remarkable DemoDay at the University of Shkodra, marking the successful completion of this year’s program.

Key Highlights:

• Final Event: The program concluded with an inspiring DemoDay where eight student startup teams presented their innovative ideas to a distinguished jury of entrepreneurs, lecturers, and innovators. The event featured prominent keynote speakers, including Andrea Ferrero, Head of Section Sustainable Economic and Social Development at the EU Delegation to Albania, Albana Borici, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economy, and Gerti Rrotani, Project Advisor at GIZ Albania.
• Participants and Teams:
  • Registrations: A total of 57 students registered for the GSS Incubator program.
  • Team Formation: The incubation process led to the formation of 12 teams during the first lab session, each working on early-stage prototypes.
  • Final Presentations: Out of the initial teams, eight advanced to the final DemoDay, showcasing projects such as #ArtZan, #FogCatching, #GenZActivities, #PutraCenter, #TDM, #SkillsSquad, #ShkodraTours, and #YouthCareerConsulting.
• Incubation Program: Over the course of three months, the program included six intensive labs where participants identified five key problems each, which were then refined to the best two per team. Through democratic voting and collaborative efforts, the teams crafted innovative solutions, resulting in the development of 12 early-stage prototypes.

  The winning teams were awarded an exciting study visit to Vienna, where they had the opportunity to explore the vibrant startup ecosystem and gain further insights to refine their business ideas.

Outcomes:

The 2023-2024 GSS Shkodra program successfully fostered creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurship among young participants. The DemoDay not only celebrated their achievements but also highlighted the innovative spirit and potential of the region’s future business leaders. All participating students received certificates recognizing their commitment and completion of the program.
